The official payment address

Road tax, inspection and vehicle exit fees are paid online on the government’s online tax portal:

online.vergi.gov.ct.tr

The “Click to pay road tax, inspection or vehicle exit fee” link on the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (Bayındırlık ve Ulaştırma Bakanlığı) website (bub.gov.ct.tr) and the “İnternet Vergi Dairesi” (Online Tax Office) entry of the Inland Revenue Department (Gelir ve Vergi Dairesi) also lead to the same address.

Fake sites

According to news reports, in November and December 2022 the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and the Police warned about sites imitating the official payment page. The Police stated that some citizens’ card details had been stolen on these sites. The addresses named in the warnings:

  • seyruseferodeme.com
  • bubgov.mobi/gv-online-vergi
  • e-odemem.com/kktc-seyrusefer-online-odeme

The Ministry announced that online.vergi.gov.ct.tr is the only website where fees can be paid by credit card.

How to recognise the official page

  • The address must end with .gov.ct.tr. The payment page is at online.vergi.gov.ct.tr. Do not enter card details on .com, .mobi or similarly named addresses.
  • Go in through a government site, not a search engine. Ads and similarly named sites in search results can be misleading. Go via bub.gov.ct.tr or vergi.gov.ct.tr.
  • If you entered your card details, call your bank immediately. Block your card, dispute any unauthorised transactions and report it to the police.

Online payment steps

  1. Open the official page. On online.vergi.gov.ct.tr, go to the “Araç İşlemleri” (Vehicle Transactions) section.
  2. Look up your vehicle. Enter your vehicle and ID details; your road tax, inspection and vehicle exit fees are listed.
  3. Pay. Select the fee you want to pay and enter your credit card details.
  4. Get the receipt. Download the payment document as a PDF or print it. According to the Ministry’s 2020 announcement, a printout of the receipt must be kept in the vehicle while driving.

If a vehicle has an unpaid inspection fee, its road tax and vehicle exit fee cannot be paid online. Details are in the road tax payment guide.

Paying with OtoAssist

OtoAssist does not take the payment itself. When a payment is due, it sends you straight to the government’s official payment page; you enter your card details on that page and the payment goes to the government. This way you pay without the risk of landing on a fake site.
